Optimised fiber combination
Biatain Fiber with HexaLock Technology is made of an optimised combination of absorbing CMC gelling fibers and strengthening fibers – each lending important properties to the final product.
The CMC fibers act as an absorbing agent that forms a gel when in contact with exudate, while the strengthening fibers increase wet strength throughout the dressing.
Thermobonded fibers for integrated strength
The fibers are thermobonded using heat treatment. This locks the strengthening fibers together around the absorbing CMC fibers to create a supporting 3D network. In this way, the strengthening fibers create a scaffold for the CMC fibers to absorb within while strength is integrated and distributed across the product.
Reinforced hexagon net
The gelling fibers are integrated in a reinforced hexagon net by ultrasonic embossment.
