Kunene Healthcare

Kunene Healthcare is the official distributor of Coloplast's Ostomy, Continence and Woundcare products. In 2009, Coloplast signed a product supply agreement with Kunene Healthcare following the realisation that synergies existed in our ambitions to develop the wound care market in South Africa. The wound care product basket of both organisations is complimentary with Coloplast selling a range of Advanced Wound Healing products while Kunene Healthcare focused on promoting their range of ‘commodity’ type dressings and drapes. It became evident that we needed to resource this developing partnership more creatively resulting in the segmentation of the market place according to growth ambitions and the need to improve the national footprint of both organisations. The consequence will be a better and improving service for prescribers and users of our products. Kunene Healthcare is headed by CEO Dr Derrick Mthembu, a general surgeon, who brings a wealth of clinical expertise to the relationship thereby complimenting all Coloplast’s business areas.
